rbb mar refIn a statement on the marriage equality referendum prior to the media moratorium, People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett urged people to come out and Vote YES.
Richard Boyd Barrett said, “Voting yes in the marriage equality referendum is an opportunity for Ireland to leave dark past behind and move towards a progressive future”.
The People Before Profit TD said, “I am confident a Yes vote will pass, judging from the tremendous response during the campaign in recent weeks, and it is clear a seismic and progressive shift is taking place in Irish society.
It is ironic that many of the No campaigners are associated with values and institutions that did huge damage to children and families over many decades and yet now are claiming to be champions of children’s rights.
The best way to protect children and future generations is to have a society where difference and diversity is celebrated and accepted”.
